Berries are in Season!

I was just in the backyard picking wild blackberries - Yes!!! Berries are in season! Strawberries . . . . . Cherries . . . Farmer's Markets are in full swing. Want a tip to really clean and preserve all that fresh produce you are bringing into you house? It's a product called "Fresh Wash". Oh my word, you wouldn't believe all the gunk that comes off those grapes, and blueberries, and lettuce! This Fresh Wash doesn't have ANY CHEMICALS in it, whatsoever (all natural ingredients: Orange extract, water, ascorbic acid, Yucca schidigera, citric acid) so it is entirely safe. When you rinse it off you are simply washing away the icky stuff from your produce.

And I can't believe how much longer it stays fresh! The other day I filled a bowel with water, sprayed about 8 sprays of Fresh Wash into it, and dipped a bunch of red grapes into it. I had picked them off the stems (they never last as long when you do that) so didn't expect them to last very long. Maybe it's my imagination, but it seemed like they tasted better (I've heard it enhances the taste. I believe it's true.)

But the amazing thing is, they lasted, (unrefrigerated!), for several days! I was very surprised.

Also, in the past we have had horrible outbreaks of fruit flies in the summertime. I discovered that they come in to the house as larvae on the fruit we buy. They hatch rather quickly once you come home and the problems begin. Since I have been using Fresh Wash we have NOT had one fruit fly in our home!!!!!!!!

I will not bring any fresh produce into our house without cleaning them with Fresh Wash first.
